It's an inevitable fact that at some point, we run out of gas. Sharon and I have been burning our energy candles at both ends and we're reaching the middle. I see a three-day beach-front vacation in our very near future. And don't we have some great beaches?
Her work situation has increased (pressure-wise)by her company's loss of their accountant. She (Sharon) used to be their "accountant". You can imagine...
Had a really nice market down at the community health center near Bradenton. I bought some nice green stuff today. What's funny is I couldn't wait to get home to eat it! For someone who was on a polish sausage bender, this is BIG-TIME! The fresh stuff is so good I can eat it while I'm buying it.
I fully support this wave of "good and simple and locally grown" movement. There are so many smart and hard-working people out there making it work. I actually tasted some blueberries today that can rival those from any northern state. They're grown on twelve acres near Myacca, Florida. The woman (Shelby) who owns those acres told me a story of one of her children who argued that those weren't "HER accas, they were DADDY'S accas!", a child's understanding of "MY"acca. It brings to mind my irresistible urge to shop at JCP enny.
I am not capable of making this stuff up. My kids are; but I'm not.
I got a thrill today when I saw a woman I was sure was Whitney Houston striding into the market in exercise gear. It turns out she was not, but I didn't find that out until I asked for a picture with her. Geeze, I hope she was flattered. We talked about the usual recipe stuff and she didn't want to try "Mother Mary's" because she prefers the mustard based sauces. That's okay. lots of people do. It wasn't until the words "pulled-pork" were mentioned that she finally tried "Mother Mary's". I hope 'Whitney' will endorse our sauces. Obviously, she bought.
My heading on tonight's post might have implied that I have finished posting. NOT A CHANCE! Even though I can no longer use "Italics" I will prevail. "I will prevail" actually was a "nom de plume" for me for a while when I had to deal with all of the problems Sharon and I were dealing with at that time: "Will Prevail" became our mantra. I'm not him but I quote him a lot.
I was also reminded today to say: Jay, Vickie, Lanie, Lauren; I love all of you and I am proud of the way you face life. Thanks!
